A useful persona focuses on what drives decisions: what the person is trying to achieve, what stands in the way, what they worry about, where they look for information and what would make them trust a provider. A name and a photo help a team remember it, but age and job title matter less than motivation.
The weakness of many personas is that they are invented in a meeting rather than built from interviews, sales conversations, reviews and data. A persona based on assumptions only confirms what the team already believed. Most businesses need two or three, revisited as they learn more, rather than a long list nobody uses.
